Cosmic Contests 1

Cosmic Contests 1 is a two player combat game where each player manages a crew of aliens in a flying saucer.  Each turn players must strategically manage their crew to build, repair, and pilot the spacecraft.  The first player to destroy their opponent's saucer wins.

 

As a system designer I created and balanced a 5D combat system that dictates interactions between the players.  I also constructed dynamic ship management mechanics that require players to make engaging decisions on how to utilize their crew members.  As a UX designer I created an easy to follow rulebook and intuitive game components.

Cosmic Contests 2 is a four player, 2v2 soccer game in which different species of aliens compete in the galaxy’s most deadly sporting event.  Each team of players controllers two species of aliens.  Every turn players use various character abilities to try and maneuver the ball into their opponents goal.

As a system designer I created and balanced a four archetypal characters each with their own unique abilities.  I also created mechanics that encourage interplay between different characters.  Players have to work off of their teammates strengths and opponents weakness in order to succeed.  As a UX designer I created an easy to follow rulebook and intuitive game components.
